We have at least three reviewers (sometimes more), and we post our reviews on Goodreads, The Storygraph, and our own website. Our reviews are short and impactful, focusing on characterisation, narration style, pacing, plot, tone/atmosphere, and the overall story.

We are not currently taking requests for reviews. We always choose independently and voluntarily what to read and review, including ARCs, and our opinions are not influenced in any way.

Disclaimer: The BFB Review does not review books for Bitten Fruit Books or any of its imprints, nor do our reviewers, if they are authors, review for each other under the BFB label (they can under their own names on their own sites), as all this would be unethical and a huge conflict of interest. Our reviewers may have their own review sites where they post other reviews not connected to The BFB Review.

The BFB Review does not post reviews to Amazon or other retail sites.

Our Rating System

★★★★★ - Exceptional; it leaves a lasting impression, and all aspects of what we look for are well expresseed.

★★★★ - Very good; we enjoyed this immensely; most aspects of what we look for are well expressed.

★★★ - Good / satisfactory; it passed the time; at least half of the aspects we look for are well expressed.

★★ - Not completely enjoyable; there were one or two good elements, but most aspects of what we look for were not well expressed.

★ - Poor. The idea of this book was not well expressed at all.
